Prepping Your Quilt
Check seams. Repair any open seams.
Press quilt tops and the backing.
Trim all loose threads.
Be sure to square the quilt top and backing. This involves making sure the edges are trimmed evenly.
Appliquéd components need to be secured to the quilt top.
Embellishments, such as jewels and buttons, should not be added to quilt top until returned from having the quilting completed.
Ensure backing and batting (if you are providing) are at least 8” larger than your quilt top in width and length.
Pin note or mark in some way the top edge of the quilt top and the backing so we can add the quilting in the correct orientation.
Place quilt top and backing inside plastic bag prior to packing in shipping box to protect during shipping. Folding the quilt on the bias will be helpful in minimizing excessive creasing.
